Sept 18, 2010 (Absolute Zero 9/17/2010)
So last night the beginning of an awesome tech, green movement, art festival happened in San Jose... there were many cool things going on, live performances from bands, textile works, artistic expressions and many many cool ideas. I will include some pictures from last night. all very cool stuff.

^ These three photos are from an outdoor collection of flowers, trees, and bushes that were all made out of recycled plastics and metals; Very cool display and looks like it was a lot of fun to put together. Cool textures as well.
^ These three were from one of the exhibits, a cool lounge created out of various woods with fake grass textures for the negative sitting space. Very comfortable and awesome design; Now this is all i want to do for my room!!
Cool bubble / smoke machine. bubbles explode upon impact with anything and leave minimal residue to your hands. very fun, I felt like a 7 yr. old child again.
Awesome human propelled ferris wheel, Users use their arms much like a swing and push each other over the top.
The "sensory" cabin various jars and pictures with camping smells and food smells, cool to the feel.
^ set of wooden contraptions that do various things, one writes in pen depending on how u sit on a chair while also moving various ping pong balls around on a scale.
^ cool textiles, almost look as if it is a painting. i was very surprised by the complexity of all the textile pieces in this exhibit. awesome stuff; spurs a lot of ideas!
Cool outdoor air machine thing, awesome too look at and feel.
PUPPET SHOW PIRATE SHIP!!!! what more can I say...
Many more cool stuff last night, just had way too many photos to post at once, got another exhibit tonight put together by friends, pictures up tomorrow until next time!! (Will have a technical drawing by tonight)
Later all!

Sept 17, 2010
For todays sketch I wanted to do something simple and fun. this sketch is mostly just for marker exploration, where I try a bunch of different techniques and kinda just play around with some colors. Its an experiment that is a blast, and I suggest that everyone should play around every once and a while.
Its a bit cropped due to the fact that my scanner is only 8.5 x 11 Minor details...
any who this sketch was just for fun; Hope u enjoy!
I will have a more technical design-related sketch tomorrow, until next time!

Second post going in!
I figured it would be nice to kick this Blog off right, so i hope this does the trick (pun intended).

Completed this sketch a couple days ago, used pencil to do a rough sketch then refined using copic markers and colored pencils! Fun to draw, fun to look at! =]
Now for this next sketch; I felt my blog needed some warmth or heart to lighten the mood. I drew this back in highschool, oh how the time flies since then. Still one of my favorites, simple yet sweet, Enjoy!
Similar technique used in my first, still fun as heck!
Hope u enjoyed todays edition, more coming tomorrow! see you then!

The Beginning
Hummus...The first post of my newly created blog... it has taken me a while to think about how I should start this journey off; here we go.
I decided to create this blog as a tool and promise to myself that I would try to come up with unique design concepts at a minimum of 1 post a day.
A smidgen about me:
I am currently in my 3rd semester of industrial design at San Jose State University, I am an active person and do not enjoy being idle. I often try and find new places to sketch as to inspire new ideas and try to look at all aspects of life from various angles. My least favorite thing is WAITING, so I apologize if i keep anyone waiting between posts; for i know the pain that is "patience is a virtue.'
Why call my design blog "Semicolon Design" ?
From its origin Semicolons were used to separate 2 ideas from one another yet keeping them in the same sentence or bracket. In a way I will be designing with this same concept in mind; creating designs that are open ended and try to combine multiple elements into cohesive designs. I will push myself to think differently than I normally would, and to bring new perspectives to the design world.
Over the course of my blog I will include random ideas that come to my mind as well as pictures for sketching reference, or pictures of things that inspire my designs. I will also include bits of projects that I am currently working on as well as modifying projects of the past.
Oh, and for the record, I will be using many semicolon punctuations in my textual writings.
Hope u enjoy my blog, whomever might be reading!
<Pictures of projects / sketches will be up soon enough>
